Wil's page

This is a page dedicated to those who enjoy a little bit of fun and involves our resident pet Dragon, who is supposed to be keeping an eye on things in the factory, but who we tend to have to keep an eye on due to his slight lack of awareness of things.

"Hi there, I'm Wil and I am the Wilcare pet dragon who helps them out when they have need of me.
I like to think I'm a clever dragon, but my nephew Ddraig Bach (Little Dragon) always seems to be able to outwit me. I every much enjoy the odd gallon or two of Brains SA and my favourite food is a plate of red hot chilli peppers with lava bread. Yummmeeee.

Wil had thought it might be a good idea to take some of the chairs we make to places where they have been named after. He took one of our Gower model chairs to the Gower, and found it so relaxing that he fell asleep and hadn't realised how quickly the tide comes in.

Here we see him with a Tenby chair in Tenby and having got the attention of some nosy lobsters who thing the chair would be very useful to hide in and escape the lobster pots. We had advised Wil not to get involved and had the chair brought back to us rather than left in Davey Jones' locker.

Here we see Wil trying to interest an astronaut into having one of our Snowdon model chairs. He had the idea of a slogan, 'For an out of this world experience'. The astronaut felt he was a little busy at the moment and would prefer to chat about it when he got back home. He seemed a little amazed to see Wil on the moon with one of our chairs, and didn't know the Welsh had a space program. (Maybe he'd not heard of Max Boyces 'Morgan the Moon')

Wil had decided to visit a tranquil spot on the River Wye with our Wye model chair. I somehow don't think the canoeist ws ready for him, and didn't think much of the idea of replacing one of the bench seats on the canoe with the chair. To be honest, we were not that happy either. But that's Wil for you.

Wil had decided to an unveiling with a difference for the Cambridge chair, and as it happened to be around Easter time, what better way than to use something to do with Easter. Yes you've got it, and I think the Easter egg lasted about ten minutes after the unveiling. Wil of course was quite oblivious to the fact that the chocolate needed to be got rid of quickly after the unveiling, before it melted everywhere, and said he would take responsibility for getting rid of it.

Hear we see Wil with our Brecon chair beside the Tommy Jones obelisk below Pen-y-Fan, the highest point in England and Wales. He has left it there for the weary walkers to have a rest and look across the countryside to Brecon itself.

The silly dragon has decided to take our Denbigh chair to Denbigh and has placed it right in front of the goal mouth in a game in which Denbigh town are playing. He said he thought it unfair having such a large area for one man to cover against all those other men. They have given him a book which explains the game of football and suggests he has a read of it.

Wil is shown in 'explorer' mode and had decided to rough it up a little in the wilds with his 'best butty' Dai Ddraig Goch (David Red-Dragon and please don't forget the hyphon). They have decided to camp outside Porth-y-Ogof cave and go crab hunting. He has sneaked one of our Dorchester chair beds which we had him return to us as he is supposed to be living it rough, and we didn't want our chair bed getting damp. By the way, you will not find any crabs in that river.

Bariatric chairs

What do we mean when we say 'Bariatric' referring to some models of our chairs, like the Snowdon Extra Max, Brecon Extra Max, Snowdon Trio Extra Max, Brecon Trio Extra Max, Denbigh and Wentworth chairs?
The word 'Bariatrics' evolves from the Greek words 'Baros' meaning weight and 'iatrics' meaning medical treatment, and is generally accept as working with those of weights of 30 stone plus.
The Snowdon and Brecon chairs are able to accommodate weights of up to 35 stone, the Denbigh accommodating weights of up to 40 stone, and the Wentworth, of weights up to 50 stone.
Should you like to know a little more about each of these chairs, then please visit our web site and choose the 'Chairs' tab.

A little teaser:
We usually place a little teaser question on the home page of our web site for a bit of fun, and the teaser we have on it at the moment is asking viewers to make as many words of three letters or more, excluding plural words and proper nouns from the words - Bariatric chair.
So far we have got 61 words with one of them being a seven letter word. How well can you do?

The above picture is of the Denbigh three motor rise and recline chair, which is able to accommodate weights of up to forty stone, and is shown in the sitting position, the reclining position and the rising position.

The Wentworth chair is another three motor chair able to accommodate weights of up to fifty stone.

The Denbigh, Wentworth, and all the trio max model chairs have Vasco Reflex foam fitted as standard to the seats of the chairs, and may, if so desired be placed in the armrests and the footboard at an additional charge.

Wilcare Wales Ltd - Electric riser and recline chairs

Wilcare Wales Ltd - Electric rise and recline chairs

(Manufacturers of Bespoke and Contract Rise and Recline Chairs)

Wilcare Wales began trading in 2002, so have just completed ten years of making chairs for the mobility market.
These chairs are now to be found all over the UK and Ireland, in private homes, nursing homes, hospitals etc., and have been purchased by private individuals, local authorities, mobility suppliers, and charity organisations.
We take great pride in our chairs, and are proud to say that our first customer is still a regular purchaser of our chairs.
We also feel it very important that the chair is of the correct size and build for the person it is required for and do our very best to make sure that this is so.
Most customers will have been measured so we know the measurements we need to work too so that the chair is comfortable for that person.
The upper weight for those wishing to have one of our standard model chairs, is up to nineteen stone, but we also make chairs able to accommodate weights of up to twenty-five stone, thirty-five stone, forty stone and fifty stone.

The above chair is called the Snowdon and has been a best seller of ours for some years.
It is able to be made as a single motor chair, two motor chair, three motor chair. It is also made to accommodate weights of up to nineteen stone, twenty-five stone and thirty-five stone.
To see more about this chair, please take a look at it on our web site:

The Eton chair is another chair which can be found on our web site, and the single motor model can now also be found on eBay with a 47.5% off RRP

The Cambridge chair, shown above was our first move into making a chair that was not only hoist friendly for those having difficulty in sitting in a chair or rising from it, but also one that was moveable and able to allow the person sitting in the chair to be moved from room to room (on a flat surface) without having to go through all the time and effort in raising the person up out of the chair and putting back into the chair having just moved from the lounge into the kitchen, dining room or wherever.
